Welcome to ALTEC’s German refresher course!

The refresher courses are ALTEC’s signature offerings. The refreshers are non-credit online language courses (French,  Spanish and German) that run for three weeks year round.

These teacher-led courses review the curriculum of the first two years while preparing students to take third year courses. Every week deals with a new cultural topic and provides students with opportunities to engage in a variety of speaking, writing, reading and listening activities.

While fully online, these courses are teacher-led and are NOT self-paced. There are assignments due every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Students will need daily access to a computer with a high-speed internet connection and a pair of headphones with a microphone.

As you may have noticed, the course uses a Facebook in lieu of a discussion forum. The group is private to the class and members of the group will NOT have access to each others' profiles. The Facebook group is an important aspect of the course. If you don't have a Facebook account, you may 1) opt out of the Facebook activities or 2) create an account for the duration of the course and delete it when the course is over.

ALTEC (Anderson Language & Technology Center at the University of Colorado at Boulder) offers sessions year round:
    • February 4th -February 22nd, 2013 Sign-up
    • May 13th-May 31st, 2013 Sign-up
    • June 4th -June 22nd, 2013 Sign-up
    • July 15th -August 2nd, 2013 Sign-up
The course caps at 12 students and we need a minimum of 8 paid students to run the course. Should a session be canceled for low enrollment, you will be offered to enroll in the next session or have your payment mailed back to you or shredded.
